There was recently an update for Adobe Connect that will prevent users from being able to enter our webinars until Adobe Connect is reinstalled with the updated version. This article will walk you through how to uninstall the outdated version and install the correct updated version of Adobe Connect to be able to join our webinars.
First, click Start on your computer in the bottom left hand side of your screen as shown below.
After clicking start, type programs and then click on Add or remove programs as shown below.
After clicking add or remove programs, this will open up a settings page on your computer. In the Search this list box, type Adobe Connect as shown below.
After searching Adobe Connect, click on where it says Adobe Connect. This will add the option to uninstall. Once you click on adobe connect and the option to uninstall appears, click Uninstall as shown below.
It will give a popup warning that the data will be uninstalled. This is fine. Click where it says uninstall on the popup.
Wait for a few moments. (uninstall progress may not be shown on the screen). After a few moments, Connect will be gone from the window. Once connect is gone from that window you will know it has been successfully uninstalled.
Now that connect has been uninstalled we will need to reinstall the new version.
Go to the URL http://www.adobe.com/go/Connect11AppStandalone
This will start the adobe connect download for you automatically.
Chrome may give you a warning that it cannot scan the file. We will want to go ahead and save it anyways.
The file should appear in the bottom left corner of your screen as shown below.
Go ahead and double click on that file to run the installer.
A window will then pop up saying it is installing Connect. After a few moments it should get to 100%, just wait until the installer reaches 100%.
You will now be able to launch the webinar. Open up the email sent from us with the webinar join link, then click on that link.
The screen will ask if it can launch Connect, as shown below
Go ahead and click where it says “Open Adobe Connect”. It may take several seconds the first time for Connect to launch. During those seconds, you will see this screen:
After waiting a few seconds, Connect should launch like normal.
